An introduction
About this place.
The Chaliapin Musical Theatre's drawing room is at 55 Bolshaya Morskaya Street, in the Karamzin–Korovina Mansion. The building's exterior is associated with Harald Bosse's 1848 rebuilding; in the early twentieth century, Nikolai Prokofiev decorated its rooms in different styles. Among surviving details, the theatre highlights a decorative grotto in the former dining room.
The drawing room hosts intimate concert programmes. One example in the repertoire is Musical Portraits: Casanova. Dorian Gray, with theatre artists performing numbers from the musicals Casanova, The Picture of Dorian Gray and Yesenin. Such an evening may suit visitors interested in musical theatre, vocal ensembles and historic interiors.
When choosing a ticket, check the full venue name: the theatre uses other addresses too, including its concert hall on the English Embankment. Dates, prices and age guidance belong to individual programmes in the official listings. This drawing room's public address is 55 Bolshaya Morskaya Street; a programme's presence in the repertoire does not mean that its next performance has been scheduled.
